Supporting Our Members Through the Government Shutdown

Payment Extension Option:
A loan payment extension is available for payments due on personal or vehicle loans for October. This option is available with verification of furloughed pay, and your loan must be in good standing at the time of the request.
 
Federal Pay Relief Loan Option:
In addition to a loan payment extension, Bellwood Credit Union is offering a short-term, interest-free loan for credit union members whose pay is impacted by the shutdown.
 
Eligibility for the Federal Pay Relief Loan
  • Must be a current member of the credit union.
  • Must be an active federal employee, government contractor paid directly by the federal government, or active-duty military personnel.
  • Must have direct deposit of federal pay into a credit union checking account for at least the past 3 consecutive months.
  • Must be impacted by the government shutdown (i.e., pay has been delayed).
Loan Features
  • Loan Amount: Equal to the member’s most recent net pay (based on direct deposit history), up to a maximum of $6,000.
  • Interest Rate: 0% APR*.
  • Term: Single payment due no later than the last day of the month following the month of disbursement.
